It seems like just yesterday when I walked through that door and introduced myself to everyone here. My very first job. I remember that first day. Nash was the first guy I met. Kind as always. Operations staff were apprehensive at first (or maybe it was just me)...but they grow on you. That first day I walked into Miri Operations Centre I wondered what I had gotten myself into. Flying small planes for a living onto short strips was no short order for a guy fresh out of flying school. They say however, that the best way to know if you can do it is to try. They were right. I had my share of heartaches while I was here. I also had my share of laughs. Everyone is like family after you get to know them. Its great when you're flying in a small airline. That was a year ago. Now its time to move on.
My next posting is to Kuching. So here I am, writing about unsaid goodbyes and unfinished business. The packing is a bother. I had already settled down here....still, when life gives you lemons :). You guys know how this one ends. I am going to miss my time in Miri. You've been a great friend.
On a side note, I've always hated goodbyes. The older I grow the more I realise that things seldom last, even if they seem like they were going to just yesterday. You feel it everyday. That house you take for granted, that annoying light bulb, your kid brother making silly faces at you and taking your stuff or mom being on your case. One day, its all going to end. And then we look back and wonder, what did I do with my life? Was it all really worth it? I wish I knew the answer to that. What is life really worth living. You might not notice it, but we're all growing older. One white hair, then one wrinkle. Life is never what it used to be (literally). I suppose moving on is a part of life. A part of life I'm still coming to grips with. Its painful, but its the rule when you're living in a transient world. Never take anything or anyone for granted. Reach out to someone today and tell them you love them. It might be your last chance. Cheers!
