The question that ran through my mind today, as I watched a young girl, not even 20, go shopping with her parents, (in public on a weekend, so lots of people) with such thin hair that her hairline started halfway to the back of her head was "Who do you blame?"
God? Mom and dad? Who? Who do you blame when something bad happens to you?
Just so you understand, seeing a bald man is normal...but to be a woman with so little hair, it must be traumatic. To go through life knowing that no boy wants to be with you because of it.

but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.
What would she think when she reads these verses in the Bible? Wouldn't she be angry with God who has put her in this impossible situation?
The truth is, none of us are perfect. Some of us are born with one form of deformity or another. All are lacking and none are complete. Paul himself, in 2 Corinthians 12:7 complained of a "thorn in the flesh". This to me, and to many other Christians, is interpreted as a form of physical ailment. For me? I have sinus issues. It really gives me some VERY bad days. We are all weak in some way or another. It can be physical, spiritual, mental, maybe even familial or financial. All of us are lacking, and that is why we need the intervention of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Should we blame him? No. Why does he allow us to suffer? Because our purpose on this Earth is to glorify and worship our God in whatever circumstance it has placed us. While for us, this might be our own journey through trials and to help our sanctification in preparation for the day we go to heaven, dear brothers, what better backdrop will provide a contrast to our Lord's divine power and grace than that of human suffering?
For in the end, our lives are not our own. We, the creation were created to love our Saviour and worship Him. We were not brought to this earth to live comfortable lives nor were we brought to become perfect people. Yes, these things are all good things and sometimes God blesses us with all or some of them, but in the end, we are all here to Worship God. That was the very REASON for life on this earth. In the end, against the backdrop of our suffering, we learn to depend on the love, grace and providence of our Heavenly Father...always reminded of his goodness and mercy. In the end of Paul's story, he declared that the Lord's strength and grace to be "sufficient" for him. It breeds humility to finally understand the mystery and meaning of life in this turbulent universe.
If you require additional reading, I suggest reading the story of Job, a man who gave his entire life to God...lost it all, and gained it all again. He was a good man...who was tested by the Lord to the very limit...and came out of it a victor through God's strength and grace.
